Naming What Was Never Mourned

There are some losses we never get to name. Hurts we moved past but never truly healed. These grievances don't make headlines, oftentimes nobody even knows, but they do make heart wounds. Left unaddressed, they linger and settle into the spaces where our purpose is meant to rise.

Grief and loss doesn't cancel our calling but ungrieved losses do, clogging the flow of clarity, hindering forward movement. By consciously transforming unresolved grief into a focused intention for healing, we reignite hope in our lives. It marks the beginning of recovery, anchored in faith.

UNDERSTANDING AND FEELING UNDERSTOOD

Do not disturb the sand troubling the water.

Healing requires dedication. It is a gradual process with no end in sight, simply because we don't know how high we can reach or what our limits truly are. We hope, we believe, we desire to understand, yet, when it comes to our own lives — and life itself — our understanding truly is limited.

Slowly it will sink to the bottom.

We start with intentionally slowing down, distancing ourselves from external influence and seek inner connection. Retreat lies at the heart of suffering and it is also fundamental to the essence of counseling. It requires surrender and offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on the direction life presents to us.

Leaving a clear mirror in which to be reflected

By understanding what we're facing, we begin moving towards recovery.

unique

Founded by Catharina van Helmond, Credere Counseling embodies a lifelong commitment to mental and spiritual well-being, with great passion for effective healthcare.

Driven by an unwavering commitment to self realization, she specializes in healing severe trauma. Her unique perspective offers valuable insights for individuals diagnosed with BPD, NPD and neurodivergent disorders, addressing trauma recovery in relation to faith, today's society and it's impact on human nature.

Catharina further enhances her practice by integrating spiritual, mystical and religious principles, enriched by her personal experiences. Her vision exemplifies the values she promotes, offering guidance that is both authentic and deeply informed.

What sets Credere apart from other counseling services is its founder has extensive professional experience in high-risk care while throughout her career continously explored as trauma's impact, the essence and use of religion and philosophy as the complexities of human psychology.

Having personally navigated neglect, giftedness, depression and suicidal thoughts, she brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal understanding to the table that enables deep, analytical, and approachable discussions, resulting in impactful learning experiences in the journey of trauma recovery.

Credere Counseling takes pride in providing a highly personalized and tailored approach, designed to address the distinct needs and circumstances of each and everyone with precision and care.

PEER SUPPORT

Credere unites women who are navigating grief, supporting their daughters through challenges such as abuse, suicidal thoughts and re-admissions. Credere facilitates the initial online meeting, after which the group continues to support one another independently.

Catharina trained at one of the top therapeutic communities in the Netherlands, known for its innovative methods that gained recognition in professional journals. This community worked closely with KIB Eindhoven, sharing a philosophy centered on holistic, client-centered care.

At age 25 to 32, Catharina and her colleagues created a secure environment for individuals recovering from severe abuse, fostering healing and life rebuilding. Their teamwork helped many achieve independence and personal growth.

Catharina is a dedicated advocate for establishing trusting therapeutic relationships, especially with those resistant to them. She emphasizes the importance of a stable, secure environment that provides clients the space, time, and support needed to rebuild attachment. This process flourishes through consistent role modeling, unconditional positive regard, and clear boundaries, allowing clients to feel valued and supported, which fosters meaningful, sustainable recovery.

Regrettably, such initiatives have largely ceased due to budgetary constraints. Few entities are willing to invest three to five years for society's most vulnerable to achieve recovery and reintegration guided by higly skilled professionals.Throughout her career, Catharina witnessed this devastating effect of misdiagnosis and inadequate mental health care, burdening individuals and ruining lives.

This highlights a troubling societal reality: comprehensive healthcare often equals just measurement. Such a mindset fosters superficial, fast treatments that ignore deeper needs. Diminished scholarship programs have led to unprepared professionals who misinterpret complexities. The current focus on quick results assumes ineffective treatment is due to challenging clients, restricting chances for meaningful transformation.

This systemic shift underscores the critical need for advocacy and reform to ensure the comprehensive, compassionate care we all deserve.

AND THE GOOD NEWS IS

Acknowledging that recovery equates to the capacity to navigate challenges and bounce back more effectively allows us to live with greater freedom, beginning with a sense of hope. Life is a poem to be lived, my dear...

With dedication and compassionate care, there is ample opportunity for healing among parents and their children, as well as between adult children and their parents, as well as adults still battling childhood trauma. If you have any questions or would like to explore the resources offered, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Credere aligns with the perspectives of Otto F. Kernberg, Bessel van der Kolk, Zach Bush and Gabor Maté regarding mental and somatic trauma. Inspiration also gets drawn from Osho, Shunyamurti, Jung and Jesus, embodying hope and perseverance.

'I am dedicated to empowering women to rediscover the belief life is meant to be lived with ease. To shed victimhood but reclaim being severely hurt. To learn to say 'I train' instead of 'I try' and feel the difference. To start living as someone in recovery instead of the one being diagnosed.

To go in counseling means saying yes to congruence and joy. Recovery is a not a quick fix, it's a lifestyle you slowly grow into, a journey well worth travelling. I'm guiding you in the process i once followed myself.'

'My clients predominantly include women, whether they are child-free or the heads of their families, who first and foremost seek to find not so much a therapist as to find knowledge backed by intuition, intelligence and experience.

They’re generally high functioning - high-achieving, experiencing relationship difficulties or hardship as a daughter, wife or mother. They are fierce yet fatigued, often finding themselves struggling with intricate family dynamics and conflicting loyalties due to highly complex issues.'

Credere is based in the Netherlands, offering straightforward advice and compassionate counseling globally.
