Naming What Was Never Mourned
There are some things we never get to name. Hurts we moved past but never truly healed. These grievances don't make headlines, oftentimes nobody even knows, but they do make heart wounds. Left unaddressed, they linger and settle into the spaces where our purpose is meant to rise.
Grief and loss doesn't cancel our calling but ungrieved losses do, clogging the flow of clarity, hindering forward movement. By consciously transforming unresolved grief into a focused intention for healing, we reignite hope in our lives. It marks the beginning of recovery, anchored in faith.

C O M P A S S I O N
Catharina received her professional training within one of the most esteemed therapeutic communities in the Netherlands. Their innovative methods gained significant recognition, attracting attention from professional journals that highlighted their pioneering approach. The community collaborated closely with KIB Eindhoven, sharing a unified philosophy dedicated to holistic, client-centered care.
For nearly a decade, Catharina alongside her dedicated colleagues successfully created a secure and supportive environment where individuals, recovering from severe abuse, could begin the process of healing and rebuilding their lives. Their collective efforts enabled independence and personal development.
Catharina is a steadfast advocate for building trusting therapeutic relationships, particularly with those who seem resistant to forming such connections. She underscores the necessity of creating a stable, secure environment where clients are afforded space, time and support required to re-establish attachment. This process thrives through consistent role modeling, unconditional positive regard and clear boundaries. In this environment, clients feel valued and supported, fostering conditions for meaningful, sustainable recovery.
Regrettably, such initiatives have largely ceased due to budgetary constraints. Few entities are willing to make the three-to-five-year investment required for society's most vulnerable to achieve recovery and reintegration under highly skilled professionals. Throughout her extensive career, spanning various levels and fields within the discipline of psychiatry, Catharina witnessed the devastating effect of misdiagnosis and inadequate mental health care, burdening individuals and ruining lives.
It reflects a troubling societal reality: comprehensive healthcare supposedly equates to mere measurement. This mindset leads to superficial, expedited treatments that overlook our deeper needs. Reduced scholarship programs and training have resulted in unprepared professionals who misunderstand the complexities involved. Emphasis today is on quick results and the belief that ineffective treatment stems from difficult clients, which limits opportunities for deep, lasting transformation.
This systemic shift underscores the critical need for advocacy and reform to ensure the comprehensive, compassionate care we all deserve.

'I am dedicated to empowering women to rediscover the belief life is meant to be lived with ease. To shed victimhood but reclaim being severely hurt. To learn to say 'I train' instead of 'I try' and feel the difference. To start living as someone in recovery instead of the one being diagnosed.
To go in counseling means saying yes to congruence and joy. Recovery is a not a quick fix, it's a lifestyle to slowly grow into, a journey well worth travelling.
I'm guiding you in the process i once followed myself.'
'My clients predominantly include women, whether they are child-free or the heads of their families, who first and foremost seek to find not so much a therapist as to find knowledge backed by intuition, intelligence and experience.
They’re generally high functioning - high-achieving, experiencing relationship difficulties or hardship as a daughter, wife or mother. They are fierce yet fatigued, often finding themselves struggling with intricate family dynamics and conflicting loyalties due to highly complex issues.'
Credere is based in the Netherlands, offering straightforward advice and compassionate counseling globally.
